We will follow the safety precautions in our office until further notice.

Office Safety Precautions in Effect During the Pandemic

As we continue navigating through the coronavirus pandemic together, we want you to know the steps we’re taking to provide services to our clients, all while keeping you and our Williams Counseling Services staff safe.

Across the state of Ohio and throughout the country, people were putting off important family events and even life-threatening healthcare issues out of a fear of being exposed to COVID-19. We do understand your concern. Coronavirus is still in our communities and it’s still contagious. By acting quickly in the early stages of this pandemic, we kept Williams Counseling Services a safe place for our staff and clients. Initially, we were:

  • Limiting in-person contact and initiating our secure and convenient online services via phone or video conference.
  • Limiting visitors to our facilities.
  • Frequently disinfecting the offices and reception areas.

We are slowly welcoming clients back for regular sessions. We will continue making your safety a top concern. Williams Counseling Services is taking the following precautions to protect our clients and staff during the pandemic. We will continue encouraging telehealth visits, when appropriate, to minimize the need for in-person visits, especially for high-risk population groups.  We understand that this is not always beneficial to treatment and that there are clients who will prefer to be seen in the office. Considering this, we have made the following changes to our office environment:

  • All clients who choose in-person sessions will be asked to sign and return the Informed Consent for In-Person Services During COVID-19 Public Health Crisis form before resuming in-person sessions with your therapist.
  • As you arrive, we ask that you participate in our Virtual Reception Area by staying in your car to wait for your appointment.  Please call our office or your therapist before your appointment to let them know you are here.  Once any prior clients have had a chance to exit and the room has been sanitized, your therapist will contact you to come in for your appointment.
  • When you enter the office, you will be asked to sanitize your hands and have your temperature taken via a touch-free thermometer.  Anyone with a temperature over 100 degrees will be sent home and the appointment will be rescheduled as a telehealth session.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for your use.
  • All client’s and therapists will be asked to wear a mask to the office, at the minimum, while they remain in the reception area and any common spaces.
  • Our therapists and staff are committed to maintaining appropriate social distancing both in waiting areas and therapy offices.
  • Therapists and staff will refrain from touching, fist bumps, handshakes, etc.  We ask that you respect and understand this for the time being.
  • Our therapists will make every effort to schedule at-risk clients at times when the office tends to be less busy. Please speak with your therapist about this if you would like to take advantage of this offering.
  • Front office staff are required to wear a mask. For the protection of clients and staff, limited handling of credit cards is required. Therefore, clients will swipe their own card on the credit card machine, followed by other steps to be performed by front office staff.  Statements and/or receipts can be requested and emailed at any time.
  • Williams Counseling Services will be continually cleaning and disinfecting our offices and reception area.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep every client and staff member safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call your therapist, our main office at 216-350-6836, or visit the client portal. We value your health and safety and look forward to welcoming back our clients, neighbors, and friends.

Sincerely,

Dwayne M. Williams, CEO
